About Steady Scaling
“Every site has our name on it. If something breaks, you reach out directly.”
— Josh Montanez, Founder
Our Story
My day job is building automation infrastructure for home service companies — databases, data pipelines, and backend systems that handle millions in revenue and serve hundreds of clients at a time. That's what I do when I'm not building websites.
If I can build that, I can build your website. And because I actually understand how the web works at a systems level — not just how to use a page builder — I know exactly how to make a site get found. We also built our own SEO research tools (SSARS) so we don't have to pass third-party subscription costs on to you.
The name “Steady Scaling” isn't just an alliteration — it's how we work. We scale things steadily. With care. We're not trying to be the biggest agency in Minneapolis. We're trying to build sites we'd actually be proud to put our name on. We want clients who stay because the work is good — not because they're stuck.
How We Build
AI writes about 95% of our code. We're not ashamed — we're proud of it. AI is a force multiplier for judgment. You feed it a good plan, it produces code, you use your judgment to refine it, iterate. More iterations = better results.
We didn't follow the traditional path. Lucky, actually — we never developed an ego about how code “should” be written. We just write code that works, ships fast, and doesn't break. And efficiency is how we deliver custom websites at a fraction of what other agencies charge.
What We Don't Do
No overcomplicated anything
Unclear CTAs, bloated solutions, creating problems that aren't there. If you've dealt with agencies that make everything complicated, you know what I mean.
No bloated packages
You don't need 47 features. You need a website that loads fast and shows up when people search for what you do.
No vanity metrics
We don't send reports about 'brand awareness' or 'engagement.' We show you clicks, calls, and rankings. Stuff that matters.
Simple agreements
Clear terms, fair pricing, and a signed agreement so both sides are protected. After your first year, you're free to leave anytime.
Tools We Built (So You Don't Pay For Them)
Most agencies charge $300–500/month just for software — Ahrefs, SEMrush, BrightLocal. Then they mark it up and call it “proprietary tools.”
We built SSARS (Steady Scaling Analytics & Ranking System) in-house. Local grid ranking, competitor gap analysis, technical audits — all the enterprise-level stuff, without the enterprise-level invoice. That's how we keep SEO affordable.
